I took the Trastevere and Jewish ghetto tours with Gastone and the Monti tour with Stefano. They are incredibly knowledgeable of Rome’s vast history and include that perfectly with information about the food and the places we visited. They are funny and kind and make the experience even more agreeable.
The food they recommend is not overpriced at all and everything you eat has a reason to be part of the tour.
I would recommend the tours also as a good way of getting to know Rome even for people that are relocating to the city (went on one of them with friends that were starting their semester in Rome and it proved very useful to get to know good eating spots for students).
Best tour in Rome
Stefano is the best guide in Rome. We not only tasted the delicious local roman food, but also had a journey back in the city history and felt the atmosphere of back streets of Monti. Hope we will meet again next time in Rome.
A great way to enjoy Roman food and history
Would recommend to anyone who is a food enthusiast visiting Rome!
I did two food tours with them: the one in the Ghetto and the one in Monti, and both were a great mix of history and food. All the places we went to were really good and you eat the equivalent of a full meal for 10-15€, depending on what you choose. Our guides – Gastone for the Ghetto and Stefano for Monti – were fun, outgoing and made the tours very enjoyable.
Next time I’m in Rome I’ll definitely do the Trastevere food tour!
The tours are supposed to be 2 hours long but they both lasted 2.5h – to keep in mind if you’re on a tight schedule.
